Dedicated to my family
The history of the temple goes back to
pre-Christian era and the cave was donated to Maha Sangha by king Naga’s wife
Datta. Most of the current constructions were done by King Keerthi Sri
Rajasingha. (1747-1782 AD)
We start our journey from
Thalathuoya (9 km away from Kandy) First reach to Digana. (you can directly
come to Digana through Mahiyanganaya highway (17km away from Kandy) Slight
right from Digana onto Victoria Golf
Club road pass by Commercial
Bank & drive around 3KM & you can see NLDB farm on your right. Slight
left near the farm & drive about 1 KM in small road toward cave temple.
Inside
the cave temple there is a dagaba comparatively smaller in size for the
devotees to venerate. On the rock surface inside the cave there are murals
painted.
